What is Sin? ...Seriously...
I posted this on IG and I know there are some people who are going to be double watching now for me to slip because it's the Bible. Some people don't think you can be a "regular" person once you start toting the Bible.
Dont tell me im over thinking because I'm not .. I hear people all the time saying they don't respect someone's "preaching" because of their past or current lifestyles, mistakes, choices, or preferences... And I get that ... No one will believe a person whose words don't match their actions... But just so we all are clear: I'm a woman in her 20s.... If we were using the Bible to judge my life, then we would see that I "sin" with the best of them!
But when you take the Bible out of the equation, what does sin become? Seriously, how would you define a sin? Drinking, smoking, pre-marital sex, adultery, homosexuality, eating swine, lying, stealing, killing?!?! What it is?! None of the above, if it isn't being done with spiteful, glutton, or malignant intent... For example, a little boy might steal some food if he's starving. A person may be forced to lie in order to protect someone else... Think about it.. In my opinion, a sin is only a sin when the action bears malice... This is why I believe in forgiveness, freedom of expression, and most of all, viewing a person's heart, not necessarily their actions..
So yes, I will post my bible notes and yes I will still have fun like normal 20-something year old women of this century. We all have our own journeys, which come with their own maps. My map looks nothing like yours and vice versa... Therefore, none of us should dwell on another person's mistakes, or what you perceive as a mistake or ungodly activities.. because at the end of the day, we're all just trying to find our way to the Light. The Bible, religion, and each different denomination are GUIDES to get you to where the Creator wants you to be. Live by them, sure, but remember it's what in your heart that matters most.
