Water for Life

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is still one of my favorite books. I've put a quick list of 10 of the wisest quotes from the book together! I call this "water for life" because these words are not just for reading, these are philosophies that we truly can live by... like water.

Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second's encounter with God and with eternity.

One is loved because one is loved. No reason is needed for loving.

There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.

When you really want something to happen, the whole world conspires to help you achieve it.

The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and to get up eight times.

"Everyone believes the world's greatest lie..." says the mysterious old man. "What is the world's greatest lie?" the little boy asks. The old man replies, "It's this: that at a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what's happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. That's the world's greatest lie.

The secret is here in the present. If you pay attention to the present, you can improve upon it. And, if you improve on the present, what comes later will also be better.

It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.
Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.

"Well, then, why should I listen to my heart?" ..."Because you will never again be able to keep it quiet."

The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them.
Not only are they words to live by, they would make really great instagram captions too! haha! Go ahead, use them! I've framed a few and hung them in my classroom as well!

love love,
